This simple Indian percussion instrument is made from a piece of ebonized wood carved into the shape of two joined fishes. Each end of the instrument culminates in an open fish mouth with two brass discs, which jingle when the fish is shaken. The chipli has a circular brass handle protruding from the top and its base is flat.
